Position Opening for part-time ESP lecturer in the College of Business

      1)      Position available: Part-time ESP Lecturer (Kennin Koshi)

2)      Field: English for specific purposes for undergraduate business students

3)      Qualifications:

a.    Master’s degree in applied linguistics, education or communication related field

b.    Experience teaching academic/specific purpose English to speakers of other languages in a university setting

c.     Advanced level proficiency in English (i.e., at least CEFR C2 level)

d.     Must have a valid working visa for Japan

4)      Position dates: September 1, 2018 – January 31, 2019

5)      Content of work:

a.    To teach four 90-minute classes a week: two classes of ESP on Wednesday afternoons (13:15 – 16:30), and two classes of ESP on Friday mornings (9:00 – 12:15). The course is for 2nd year business students with a focus upon the integration of international business content. It includes presentation, note taking, and discussion. As the department uses a coordinated curriculum, all lesson plans and course materials will be provided.

b.   Grading for written assignments, quizzes and worksheets to be done outside of class hours.

c.    Part-time lecturers will be required to attend (at least) one meeting prior to the start of the semester, and one at the conclusion of the semester.

6)      Terms of Employment:

a.    The contract is for one semester and may be renewed for the following year.

b.    Salary is based on the university scale and paid over six months (including non-teaching months), plus commuting expenses within the Tokyo/Yokohama metropolitan area.

9)      Other:

a.     Successful potential candidates will be contacted in late June for an interview.

b.     The interview will take place at Rikkyo University, Ikebukuro     

c.      Transportation fee to the interview cannot be provided.
