On Oct 2, 2012, the winners of the case competition from the first year “Introduction to leadership” course visited the headquarters of Hewlett-Packard (HP) Japan, Ltd. and presented their business ideas to the executives and employees of HP.
At the beginning of the 2012 spring semester, HP assigned a ‘task’ to the students to open a new HP store in Japan. The entire freshmen, who are broken into 90 teams, are enrolled in the class as an introductory leadership program, and compete against each other in developing business ideas to the company. On the 3rd of July, the final competition was held to decide the six finalists.
On the day of presentations, officers and staffs of HP gathered to listen to the students’ presentations, followed by Q&A sessions in which the students answered substantive questions, and received positive feedbacks on their business ideas.
After the presentations, a small reception was held for the Rikkyo students, lecturers and HP employees, when the students were able to actively ask questions to the HP employees and enjoy themselves by receiving personalized feedbacks of their presentations from many HP participants including senior executives.
We would like to express our gratitude to Hewlett-Packard Japan, Ltd.
